Here She Comes, Better Put on your Scary Big Bad Wolf Costume

Once upon a time there lived a little girl who lived in a village near the forest. Her grandma is sick and the little girl in the red hat and cape must deliver food to her home in the woods. The only problem is its Halloween and there is someone in a scary big bad wolf costume who wants to gobble her up.

All Little Red Riding Hood wants to do is help her grandmother by bringing her dinner in her basket. All the wolf wants to do is trick the good-hearted little girl so she can become his dinner. A scary big bad wolf costume might work.

The wolf gets the little girl to give him directions to grandma’s house and suggests that Little Red Riding Hood pick some flowers from the nearby forest to bring to grandma. This gives the wolf time to make his way to grandma’s house. There he tricks poor grandma into letting him into the house by pretending to be the little girl.

Grandmother makes a big mistake. She lets him in and the wolf swallows her in one bite. That is what you call a big gulp. Now, for the scary big bad wolf costume.

Soon, the girl in the red cloak arrives to give grandma her dinner and flowers. Not surprising, Little Red Riding Hood notices something wrong about the way her granny looks. Maybe it’s the fact that the wolf is wearing her nightgown and her sleeping cap. Just for good measure, the wolf dabs some of grannies perfume behind his pointy ears. A scary big bad wolf costume to be sure.

“Who is it?” asks the wolf. “It’s me”, says the girl.

When she enters the house, she says “Grandmother, what big ears you have”. “The better to hear you with, my dear”, replies the wolf.

Sensing all is not well, Little Red Riding Hood exclaims, “What big eyes you have”! “The better to see you with, my dear”, the wolf proclaims in his best fake grandma voice.

Now she is getting really suspicious. “But Grandmother, what big teeth you have”. “The better to eat you with, my dear”, roared the wolf as he leapt out of bed and began to chase the girl around the cottage.

Now, Little Red Riding Hood is almost certain that something is not as it should be. Just to be sure, she ran as fast as she could from the animal in the scary big bad wolf costume, out the door, shouting “Help, I think something in a scary big bad wolf costume wants to eat me”.

Fortunately, a woodsman was cutting logs nearby and came to rescue Little Red Riding Hood and even forced the wolf to spit out grandma, none the worse for wear.

Now you can have a green, floral print nightgown and nightcap, grey wolf shoe covers, gloves with claws and wolf mask. Add square “Santa” glasses and a Gingham Basket and your scary big bad wolf costume is complete.
